Manufacturer of industrial brushcutters
DENIS CIMAF was founded in 1991 after Laurent Denis withdrew from Équipement Denis, the company he founded in 1976. In his departure, he retained the sylvicultural part of the business, which had been created two years before when the French company CIMAF was bought by Équipement Denis.
To improve upon the original French brushcutter design, the essentially inefficient deflector chute was eliminated, and the structure reinforced. The first version of the semi-mobile knife rotor was brought on line, followed by fixed-blade rotors and bolt-on blades a few months later. DENIS CIMAF's leading edge bolt-on blade technology has been patented in the United States and Canada (and a patent is pending in Brazil).
To broaden its product line and visibility, DENIS CIMAF sought new strategic alliances. In 2002, it signed a distribution and development agreement with Produits Forestiers Munger inc. (PFMI), in Quebec, Canada. Then, in 2004, it signed a distribution and representation agreement with Gater Grapple in British Columbia, Canada. Later that year, it granted Gyro Trac, in Quebec, Canada, rights to use its intellectual property in that company's products. Finally, also in 2004, it purchased the brushcutter-mower line for graders from Blackie Machinery, in B.C., Canada.
DENIS CIMAF currently offers four product groups, with each group using either the horizontal shaft rotor or the vertical shaft brushcutting technologies. To stay at the cutting edge of technology, it invests in R&D and international market development, while staying clearly focused on customer needs and developing new ideas for environmental vegetation control solutions. Always at the technical edge of brushcutting.
